Guest Proposals

We welcome fan suggestions for guests and direct proposals from persons wishing to appear as guests (or their representation). If you would like to submit a proposal, please email us.

Below are some of the factors we consider for different types of guests for your reference.

Highlight Guests

(Includes Actors, Singers, Skilled Performers)

  • Perceived demand by attendee base is a must, therefore must have a relevant previous role, previous performance, or a performance that can be incorporated live – may vary depending on the type of talent
  • Must be able to participate in a minimum two hours of programming during appearance (e.g. panels)
  • Expected to spend some time at a table space for individual meet and greets with fans as well as autographs (if expected by attendees) and sales of prints and/or merchandise (recommended)

Please enquire for more details or clarification.

Cosplay Guests/ Costumer Guests

(Qualified for Cosplay Contest judging. Contribute to the overall fan experience.)

  • Must have masters level costume construction abilities
  • Must make own costumes
  • Expected to wear at least one costume they made that is relevant to the convention theme per day (optional to switch to another costume they made)
  • Any costumes worn at the event must comply with dress code restrictions
  • Must participate in leading a minimum two hours of programming per day for their appearance (this can include participation in panels, cosplay contest judging, leading craft workshops, or other approved content)
  • Expected to interact with attendees amicably and contribute to the overall atmosphere of the event
  • Suggested minimum social media following of 5000 combined over multiple networks (this can indicate popularity and ability to handle attendee expectations, but those who qualify via other merits and can lead programming should still apply). For help increasing your social media following, we recommend Hootsuite Academy, Emily’s “Cosplay for Social Media” panels at GTA conventions, and contacting Moon Chase to be featured for Sailor Moon costumes.
  • Must be within driving distance of Toronto

Cosmodel Guests/ Cosplay Model Guests

(Not qualified for Cosplay Contest judging. Contribute to the overall fan experience.)

  • Not required to make own costumes, can wear store-bought or commissioned costumes
  • Expected to wear at least one costume that is relevant to the convention theme per day (optional to switch to another costume)
  • Any costumes worn at the event must comply with dress code restrictions
  • Must participate in leading a minimum two hours of programming per day for their appearance (this can include participation in panels, friend date auction, leading craft workshops, or other approved content)

Guest Perks Include:

  • Table space for prints, autographs, merchandise (negotiable depending on guest type)
  • Companion passes
  • Free parking
  • Beverages and food (negotiable depending on length of appearance)
  • The convention also covers the cost of materials for craft workshops, within a defined budget
  • Depending on guest needs, a liaison may be available on demand
  • Dedicated liaison available for highlight guests as needed
  • Other items are negotiable depending on length of appearance and where the guest would be traveling from

We thank all of those who apply, but we cannot accept everyone.

Due to budget considerations and our focus on promoting more local costumed guests, we can only consider cosplay and cosmodel applications for those within driving distance of Toronto at this time.

We are happy to consider proposals for highlight guests for persons in both Canada and the USA.

Not sure if you qualify as a guest? Ask us or apply to run programming instead. Those who lead programming receive discounts up to a free pass, similar to our compensation for volunteer hours. Some persons who do not yet qualify for a guest appearance may be encouraged to run programming for experience and the ability to contribute to the overall convention experience. This can be a less demanding way to be part of the event and get a more realistic view of the increased expectations from our attendee base for a guest.
